About the event
From Panic Attacks to Serenity
In-Person Workshop: Sunday, March 1st, 2026, 10am-5pm @ Psychodrama NJ in Oakhurst, NJ

Psychodrama and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) are both highly effective in treating panic and panic attacks. CBT helps individuals identify and reframe distorted thoughts that trigger panic, fostering greater control and calm. Psychodrama complements this by engaging the body and imagination—allowing clients to reenact and transform the emotional and relational experiences fueling anxiety.
This psychodrama training equips clinicians to integrate CBT techniques into an experiential framework—bringing the CBT triangle of thoughts, emotions, and actions to life through action methods. It also enhances exposure therapy, the gold standard in CBT, by enacting feared situations in a safe, guided setting, deepening insight and accelerating healing.
Learning Objectives
Describe how Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychodrama can be used in combination to treat panic attacks.
Demonstrate at least one psychodrama technique that brings the CBT triangle of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors into experiential practice.
Apply psychodramatic techniques to support cognitive restructuring and emotional processing in clients experiencing panic symptoms.
Demonstrate how psychodrama can be used to enhance CBT-based exposure therapy by safely enacting feared situations within a guided clinical setting.
