The Munch and Learn Series offers accessible, interactive, and didactic 1-hour continuing education workshops held online at 1:00 pm Eastern — perfect for a midday learning boost (lunch on the East Coast, breakfast on the West Coast!).


Each workshop focuses on a specific aspect of psychodrama, sociometry, or group psychotherapy, blending theory with practical application. Workshops are designed for beginners who are new to psychodrama, while also serving as a refresher for those with more experience who want to sharpen their skills and revisit important core concepts.


Workshops cover a wide range of topics including clinical applications, ethics and best practices, and methodology.


Each workshop = 1 ASWB-ACE Approved CE credit 

Each workshop = 1 ABE Approved Training Hour

Designed for Beginners; Open to all

    Working with Grief & Loss -January 5th 2026 (Helpful for participants taking Working with Grief &Loss Full Day In-Person workshop on 1/6/26). An introduction to psychodramatic methods for supporting clients through grief and loss. Explore tools for honoring loss, facilitating mourning, and creating meaning in the face of change.

    • Learning Objectives:

      • Describe how surplus reality plays a role in grief and loss work.

      • Recognize one action intervention to help clients find meaning and resilience after loss.

Continuing Education/Training Information:


All hours of this training series may be applied toward certification standards of the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama, Sociometry, and Group Psychotherapy.


Psychodrama NJ, provider number 2273, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 6/25/25-6/25/26.

Scottie Urmey, LCSW, TEP is the founder of Psychodrama New Jersey and a passionate educator with 30 years of experience in psychodrama, creative arts therapies, psychology, and social work. Past President of the American Board of Examiners (2021–2024) and an approved clinical supervisor in NJ, she brings her expertise to workshops and trainings nationwide.

Psychodrama NJ is a training institute and psychotherapy practice passionate about creating transformative learning and healing experiences.








Participant Information:

Level: Content is geared toward beginners (students and professionals with little or no prior experience), but all are welcome.

Format: These are compact, interactive workshops that require active engagement. Learning will include didactic instruction, large and small group discussions, thought-provoking questions, breakout activities, and at times interactive features such as chat, polls, and quizzes.

Attendance:

  • These workshops will be held live and online via the Zoom platform.

  • Prompt arrival and full attendance are required.

  • Participants must log in 5 minutes early and remain for the entire session.

  • Cameras must remain on throughout the course.

  • Microphones must be working, and participants should feel comfortable using them.

  • Attendance must be from a private, distraction-free, and safe location.

  • Do not attend while driving.

Registration Information:

Registration: You must register in advance to attend. You can register online or by calling the office directly at 732-686-9427. Registration is closed when the event has reached capacity.


Tuition: $20 for each workshop or $100 for all 10. Includes: CE Certificate and educational materials.*


*To avoid platform fee's you may choose to pay by check, Venmo or Zelle. Payments must be received BEFORE the workshop unless otherwise arranged. To do so please complete the online registration process, then choose “Manual Payment”. Make checks out to Psychodrama NJ, and mail to Psychodrama NJ, c/o Scottie Urmey, 220 Monmouth Road, Suite 7, Oakhurst, NJ, 07755.


Refund Policy: Registrations are non-refundable, but may be transferred to another eligible participant with at least 48 hours’ notice or applied as credit toward a future workshop. Credit requests must be initiated within one week of the scheduled workshop.

Important Information About Attending This Online Course: Keep in mind this course is held live, online via Zoom and is a highly interactive learning experience. To get the most out of the training, please review the following requirements:


What You’ll Need:

  • A strong internet connection (wired or Wi-Fi)

  • A working microphone (built-in or external)

  • A working camera (built-in or external)

    Note: Your camera must be on during the entire course.

  • Please be comfortable using your microphone, as participation and discussion are essential parts of the training.

Devices and Software:

  • You may use a computer, laptop, or supported tablet (Surface Pro 2 or newer).

  • Your device should be running one of these operating systems:

    • Windows 10 or 11 (not in “S Mode”)

    • macOS 10.13 or newer

    • Linux (various versions)

  • Zoom must be installed and working on your device. Make sure your system is up to date before the event.
