What can training offer you?

You may come to training wanting to learn psychodrama, strengthen your clinical skills, deepen your understanding of groups, earn continuing education or certification hours, or simply find new ways to bring creativity and connection into the work you already do. Your reasons for training are personal, and so are your learning goals.

At Psychodrama New Jersey, training is more than learning techniques. Our experiential approach creates opportunities to learn by doing, connecting theory with practice and developing skills that can be integrated into your own professional style. Depending on your experience, interests, and goals, training may help you:

  • Develop practical skills in psychodrama, sociometry, and group psychotherapy

  • Expand your clinical and experiential toolbox

  • Strengthen your ability to work with individuals, couples, families, and groups

  • Learn creative ways to help clients move beyond insight and into action

  • Deepen your understanding of relationships, roles, group dynamics, and interpersonal patterns

  • Practice new interventions in a supportive learning environment

  • Increase confidence and spontaneity as a clinician, facilitator, educator, or helping professional

  • Learn alongside others while developing meaningful professional relationships and community

  • Explore your own professional strengths, growing edges, and unique style

  • Accumulate training and continuing education hours toward professional development and, when applicable, psychodrama certification

Psychodrama training can also influence the way you understand therapeutic work, even when you are not conducting a formal psychodrama. Concepts such as role theory, sociometry, doubling, role reversal, concretization, and spontaneity can offer new ways of understanding clients, relationships, groups, and the therapeutic process.

For learning to be meaningful, it must extend beyond the training room. Our goal is not simply for you to leave knowing more about psychodrama, but to leave with experiences, skills, perspectives, and connections that you can integrate into the work you are already doing, and continue developing long after the training ends.

Why do our trainings and workshops feel like self care?

Our experiential approach allows you to learn from the inside out. Along the way, you may:

  • Grow within a consistent, supportive professional community

  • Learn through experience, not just lectures and theory

  • Reconnect with creativity, spontaneity, and curiosity

  • Step away from the demands of your everyday clinical role

  • Feel supported by peers who understand the work you do

  • Build meaningful professional relationships and connections

  • Reflect on yourself while strengthening your clinical skills

  • Leave feeling renewed, inspired, and more connected to your work

Professional development can develop the professional, too.

"Scottie is an incredible trainer, and pscyhodrama is a wonderful modality that helps bring new experiences and insights, both to clients and practitioners! I was amazed by how much I learned in such an experiential, meaningful, and FUN way, while also building meaningful relationships that I'm excited to hold onto! IMO the BEST way to complete CEs - you won't want to do them anywhere else ever again."
